Early Viking Severn Valley – Part 3

by Guthrum on March 14, 2012

Having seen the great similarity between the remnants of the decoration on this frame and the Mileater in the 1951 brochure, I thought that perhaps my frame was a Mileater rather than Severn Valley.  However, I have just checked the seatpost size and it takes a 27.0/27.2mm post and the frame is close to the same weight as my 1955 Severn Valley.  All of which tells me that it is a Severn Valley after all.  But it does go to show the great similarity between Mileaters and Severn Valleys over the years – there is little or no difference other than plain gauge versus butted tubes, and of course the name on the frame.
